Just three days before embarking on this major 3-week tour of Asia, JC2033's finances were still in doubt, and the severe pain in my shoulders seemed destined to prevent this great journey.
The financial provision fleece arrived in full some thirty hours before the deadline we had set with the committee.Glory be to God who provides.
During a time of prayer at our annual JC2033 retreat, in the hopeful atmosphere of Taizé (France), Céline Abadir, newcomer to the office and responsible for the ePrayer, suggested we read 1 Kings 17:1-15. It's God's message to Elijah in verse 3 that pierces my heart:

Leave this place, go east (Sower's Bible)

Go from here, head east (SG79)
My response was immediate:
- At your word, I will leave this place and go to the east!!!
Indeed, Istanbul, Singapore and Seoul are to the east of Europe.

Istanbul is the Near East.

Singapore is the East.

Seoul is the Far East.
